THE RESORT
The Colorado Rocky Mountains with the peaks of the San Juans are always in sight. Cedar-, pine and aspentree forrests abound and elk, deer and sometimes moose roam the endless open land: magnificent nature at it´s best! The DOUBLE G RANCH is situated in the heart of southwest Colorado on a high plains plateau between Montrose and Ridgway – a hideaway laidback in silence and privacy but still close to the airport, shops and plenty of restaurants.
On a magnificent land the resort houses the completely renovated main building of the ranch, the remodeled Bunkhouse (Bear Cave Lodge) and the horse accomodations. Located nearby is open public land with +/- 3000 acres, a State Park, 2 reservoirs good for fishing, sailing and stand up paddling, white water rafting and the Divide Golf & Country Club as well as 4 golf courses in Montrose and Delta. The main building is furnished in a Transition – mix of Colorado Countrystyle and modern East Coast – Loft – Lifestyle with great attention and care to every single detail.
Our ranch is just 20-minutes south of Montrose and 15-minutes distance to Ridgway. Montrose offers a variety of shopping possibilities and an airport with connecting flights – operated either by United Airlines, Southwest and American Airlines – to Denver, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Chicago and Los Angeles; which can vary. Ridgway is a pittoresque cowboy-city with magnificent restaurants and art galleries – everything you need during your holidays.
The ranch offers newly renovated rooms and suites furnitured in a transition style (a stylish mix of Colorado Country Life and New York Loft Style) for max 10 guests. The house contains four open fireplaces, which create a warm, cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
Our guests can enjoy their days and evenings in our beautiful open living / dining area (+/- 600 sq.ft).
A very special highlight of the ranch is the spacious deck towards the east and south where you can relax after an exciting day. On this deck you can enjoy the stunning Colorado weather with 300 days of sunshine and the incredible view of the mountains. In summer we also serve the meals outside on the deck; a very unique and special experience.

YOUR HOSTS
Double G Ranch owners, Frank and Sandra Gouder, are from Germany and fell head-over heels in love with southern Colorado and everything it has to offer. After traveling the world as a fashion CEO for most of his career, Frank enjoys giving the guests first-class service in a casual and laid-back atmosphere, always with a big smile on his face. Sandra brings her CPA experience to the operations but her true passion are horses. Training wild Mustangs and preparing gourmet dinners for the guests. Important member of the team is Sandra´s mother, Ulli who is the heart and soul of the B&B.
Last not least the team is completed with our four-legged companions Shadow, Sammy and Tommy as well as with our horses, chickens, bunnies, nigerian dwarf goats and babydoll sheep.
